Dirty Hands focuses on a current group of artists that use various forms of printmaking as a viable contemporary medium, including screenprints, etchings, stencils, wood block prints and artist books. The immediacy and accessibility of printmaking creates a medium that can be mass-produced in editions, artist books, and posters.The process of hand-printing also adds the distinction of the human hand at work, revealing its slight imperfections and labor to be refreshing in our increasingly digital age.

Bongoût
Bongoût is the designer duo of Anna Hellsgard (Sweden) and Meeloo Gfeller
(France),  who create in-your-face rock poster designs, art books,
T-shirts and objects. Berliner's may have seen recent Bongoût band posters
on the steets of Berlin advertising Billy Childish, the Boredoms, Melvins
and Fantômas. Their style is a mix of graffiti graphics and psychedelic
colour - all handmade and hand printed. Their band posters are limited
edition and their high quality art books show off a wild range of artists.
For this exhibition, they will develop new prints based on Tattoo
flashes, and there will be limited edition rock posters and T-shirts to
buy. Don't miss Meeloo's demented road movie to be screened at the
opening!

Zaishu panels will feature the bi product of urbanMelbourne marked with obsolete and weathered band posters, graffiti and peeling paint. This will be randomly combined with test prints created by Berlin artists Bongoût’s screen printing process. Further bi products created in the cutting of the Zaishus will be re translated in a live performance by Berlin
designer Rainer Spehl to make small on the spot wall mounted bookcases
